Welcoming our New Director of Nursing

We love getting the opportunity to shine our spotlight on the amazing employees who impact our residents, staff and families every day. We're shining our spotlight onto Darby Glenn’s new Director of Nursing, Lori Bailey!

Lori has been working for Darby Glenn since March 2022, starting as our Assistant Director of Nursing for our skilled therapy unit. Although she's only worked here since March, she has worked in long-term care for over 17 years. She started as a Housekeeping/Laundry Aide and worked her way to become an STNA until she received her RN. Lori is proud to now be leading Darby’s team of Nurses!

We are so grateful to have a dedicated, hard-working individual at the head of our team. Lori would describe her job as rewarding, fulfilling, and also demanding. She is passionate about self-improvement and helping others. Taking care of her parents in their final years truly inspired Lori to work towards her RN and dedicate her career to helping the elderly. Lori definitely has a special place in her heart for the elderly population. One memory that Lori will never forget is doing the chicken dance with residents during one of the dance activities. That memory has always stuck with her over time.

Outside of work, Lori enjoys reading, taking walks on nature trails, playing Matchington Mansion and watching Disney movies. Her favorite place to vacation is at Virginia Beach. Lori loves spending time with her five kids; Elizabeth, Brittany, Jayden, Jacob and Bailey. She also has two adorable cats named Bamboo and Spoof.

Darby Glenn is so lucky to have such an amazing Director of Nursing on our team! It is team members like Lori that fill our facility with love and build the Culture of Care that we strive for that make Darby Glenn the premier nursing facility it is.
