National Registered Dietitian Week

Last week, we celebrated our hardworking Clinical Dietitian, Michael, for National Registered Dietitian’s Day, March 8th. Across the country, dedicated Registered Dietitian Nutritionists provide the most advanced and current nutrition information available to their patients. They are experts in food and nutrition whose training qualifies them to support a variety of patient needs.

We are so lucky to have Michael on our Clinical Team. He works with our Dietary Team to ensure our residents receive nutritious meals to improve their overall well-being. He is committed to helping residents achieve their health objectives and broaden their understanding of a healthy diet. Michael describes his career as creative, adaptive, and personal. He strives to make Darby Glenn a better place by regulating nutritious meals for our residents.



The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics created National Dietitian Nutrition Day in 2008 to raise awareness of the role Registered Dietitian Nutritionists play in helping people enjoy a healthy life. This is what Michael aims to do with his career. Starting in Dietetics and Consulting, he quickly realized how much he loved working in Clinical Dietary because it encompassed all his interests; math, science, nutrition, psychology, and people. He also loves to learn about the different intricacies of food behavior. Michael enjoys working in long-term care because he has the ability to show our residents that it is never too late to get better. Along with regulating diets, he also works to educate residents on the importance of eating a healthy diet.

In Michael’s free time, he enjoys watching movies and going on runs. He is also a part of the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus and loves to sing. His favorite vacation spot is Maui, Hawaii. A fun fact about Michael is that he has an identical twin!
